I have started the process of starting the All American team. Now I need advice as to what I need to do once I get a response to the below: Here is what I have come up with as a means of getting a team started. So far I plan on posting this in my gym ( 2 locations, lots of big strong athletes and the membership is in the 1000's). Placing it on the local cable access channels advertisements (its free to do this), Posting it in all 4 of my companies facilities and i'm seeing how much it costs to run it in a few papers. STILL HAVE THE DESIRE TO PLAY? Are you an athlete who still has the desire to play competitive sports? Do you want to be part of the first “All American Cricket Team” in the U.S? The Colonial Cricket Club needs you! Here is what we are looking for 1) Athletes who are true competitors. 2) Athletes who are committed to training. 3) Athletes with good baseball skills: *Pitching, Fielding, Batting, Throwing* If this sounds good to you and you think you have what it takes, Please send an email to colonialcricket@yahoo.com for more details. *PLEASE BE ADVISED: CRICKET IS A CONTACT SPORT SIMILAR TO BASEBALL AND THE BATSMAN FACES BALLS THAT ARE THROWN IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH & FIELDERS DO NO WEAR GLOVES.
One of the first things I will speak to the people who reply is the fact that all eyes will be on this team. They will be ground breaking revolutionaries. I am committed to do this and everyone on this board should start spreading the word about this venture so the momentum can start to build. You can be sure that as thing thing happens I am going to document every step. I fancy myself a journalist as well as a amatuer filmaker. I plan to inform newspapers about this as well as have a nice website. The way I see it: By end of Dec = Have a core group of guys for team. If possible recruit an experienced Cricketer(s)to serv as coach(s) and mentors Jan thru Feb = thru meetings and indoor practice in a gym learn the game and build our skills. Also start the work to secure a homefield March Thru April= Apply for membership in the Mass State Cricket League, start ordering equipment & gear. Get outside to start practicing. May = Try and schedule warm up matches June= Start the season

Further safety warning: In baseball you get a free base if the batter is hit by a pitch. No such protection in cricket. The whole point of fast bowling is to scare the batsman rigid.
